Step and Direction output Software.

   Step and direction software reads hpgl or gcode files and generates signals to control motor position, using two data lines per axis. The frequency of the signal to the step line determines the speed of the motor while the direction line controls the direction of rotation.

   All of the step and direction software I am aware of use the printer port to send the signals.  Below is a chart comparing some step and direction programs. This chart is not finished and could use more properties to compare so anything you have to add or correct will be appreciated and added to this web page
