DXF to Gcode |
This is a collection of software that imports DXF or STL files and converts then into gcode. These programs vary in there operation and ease of use but all generate some form of gcode. |
DesKAM 2000 is a Windows 95/98/NT based 2 1/2D Cam program that inputs a DXF file and creates a Post Processed output file. It can be used for milling, routing, drilling or anywhere requireing 2 1/2 D toolpath creation. It performs spiral pockets, contouring, drilling, and prototyping functions. Besides doing 2 1/2D work Deskam 2000 can import stereolithography files and lay a toolpath over it. $250 The Demo is limited to 200 line of code |

CAD-2-CNC reads drawing-data in DXF- or HPGL-format and generates CNC-milling-programs. This program is suitable not only for engraving but also for milling complicated parts in high precision. You draw the desired tool-paths using a CAD-system e.g. AutoCad. With CAD-2-CNC You associate parameters like tool-diameter and cutting-speed to the drawing-elements. The optimized sequence of milling-paths is generated automatically by CAD-2-CNC. FREE |
CAM Expert This is a pretty nice program, I tried the demo and was impressed. Besides being easy to use it has one of the best toolpath optomization rutiens I have seen. The program basicly inports dxf, hpgl or gerber files and outputs gcode. There are to many features to list here so go to there web site and check it out, Demo avalible $240 |

Gcode 2000 Now reads lines,Arcs,Rect,Circle,PolyLines,LWPolylines, Ellipse, Sorts object by size. Reads and writes DXF files.Supports Mechanical desktop, AutoCAD ,11,12,13,14,2000, Autosketch, TurboCad, DesignCad, AshlarVellum, CorelDraw and SolidWorks. A note to International users. Set the decimal delimiter to a period from the Control panel under Regional settings.Gcode is specifically designed for converting AutoCAD drawings into G-Code programs for use with any 2-D or 3-D machine such as Wire EDMs, Laser Etchers, Flame cutting, Milling , Lathes etc. Also Gcode can be used for creating individual complicated tool paths for 2-D and 3-D machines. Gcode is a low cost opportunity for small independent machine shops to convert their drawings into useful programs for their CNC and DNC equipment without the hassle of figuring out the geometry manually. Version 2000 adds 3d contouring and files up to 1 million lines. Simply draw the outline of the part on a dedicated layer. Then DXF out the file. Load the DXF file into Gcode which will process and plot it. Then simply add Tool numbers Etc. $200 |

Nester Nester Requires Windows 95/98/2000 or NT. What Is Nester, The Product? It is specifically designed for converting CAD drawings into GCode programs for use with any 2-D or 3-D machine and then nesting the path into an array across a sheet.Alternativly existing Gcode tool paths can be processed.Nesting is done on the XY plane but 3d files can be processed an viewed from any point. $200 |
Supercam Super Tech & Associates makes computer controlled XYZ tables, Stepper Motor controllers and the Supcam CAD/CAM program, a direct machine control Graphics User Interface with a CNC code generator for CNC machine tool control and CNC code file import features for stepper motor control via the parallel interface port on a Desktop computer. HPGL, DXF, BMP and CNC G&M code files can be used as tool paths. Graphic design programs such as CorelDraw and AutoCAD can be used to generate complex machine tool paths. $495 |
