Dolphin Parameter Changing Procedures

This section will show you how to alter the many variables in your US Electricar S10 or Prism vehicles. Charge voltages and top vehicle speed have been tested as of 7/21/05. The rest of the parameters will be added over time.

Tools: Laptop running Dol7 in DOS mode, straight through serial cable.

This procedure replaces all constants at one time for the 592AE. Do not try this with the 5B5AA!

1. Plug the vehicle into an outlet.

2. With Dol7 running, save a copy of the file AA1.SET as AA2.SET to keep the original AA1.SET file safe.

3. Press alt+F, select open, select file AA2.SET, hit enter.

4. Tab once to "Files" area. Arrow over to AA2.set and hit spacebar. This opens the editing window.

5. Change the desired value of the parameter, then press alt+F to save the file. Press alt+F3 to close editing window.

6. With Dol7 still running, select memory" then "download constants". Arrow down to "new file" and hit enter. The constants window will open.

7. Tab once to "Files" area. Then arrow over to AA2.SET, hit spacebar, and then tab over to the "Load" button and hit enter.

8. After about 2 minutes, the tiny display window will say "done".

9. Then unplug the vehicle from the charger. Wait 5 seconds, plug it back in.

10. The parameter is now changed and can be viewed in Dolphin or felt while driving.

The End.

8. Hit tab key to highlight "Done" button and hit enter. "Number Entry" box will open.

9. Input 817 for 380 volt pack voltage. Tab to highlight "OK" button and hit enter.

10. Disconnect AC to vehicle. Wait 5 seconds. Reconnect AC to vehicle.

11. New constant is now installed.

The End.

Dol7 Parameters Tested:

Constants

77. spdlmt - Max MPH of the vehicle.
91. vchrgmax - Max charging voltage of the main pack.
97. acoff - At this pack voltage the charger shuts down.
101. ich120 - Limits the 120vac charging current. Default value is already allowing max current.

Variables

173. trkref - Not sure what it does. Was hoping it would change the trickle current to the pack.
185. ampscale - Changed the needle position on the the SOC guage. Altered the % of pack charge shown in Dol7. Instant change while in motoring mode.
186. soc out hi lm - Sets the needle position near full on the SOC gauge. Instant change while in motoring mode.
187. soc out low lm - Sets the needle position near empty on the SOC gauge. Instant change while in motoring mode.
